Purpose

This template provides a way to display text without wikification. It provides an alternative to <nowiki> tags and is more consistent with wiki markup syntax.

Usage

{{nowiki|[[example]]}} → [[example]]

Bugs

Templates, parameters, parser functions, and parser magic such as signatures (~~~~) and the pipe trick are parsed in the argument to this template where they are not with <nowiki> tags:

• <nowiki>{{tl|nowiki}}</nowiki> → {{tl|nowiki}}
• {{nowiki|{{tl|nowiki}}}} → <code>{{[[Şablon:Nowiki|Nowiki]]}}</code>

And:

• <nowiki>{{!}}</nowiki> → {{!}}
• {{nowiki|{{!}}}} → |

Although sometimes this can be a desired feature.
