En paño de verde una banda de amarillo acompañada de una oropéndola (Oriolus oriolus) de amarillo y alas de negro en cada hueco. Las aves de amarillo Oriolus oriolus, conocidas en Galicia como vichelocrego y gaimarelo, simbolizan el topónimo Ourol, derivado del latín Aureolus (dorado) y a la propia ave (oropéndola). La banda engolada recuerda al caballero don Fernán Pérez de Andrade «O Boo» que dejó su huella heráldica el siglo XIV en la iglesia parroquial de San Pantaleón de Cabanas y que él mismo mandó edificar; el color verde del campo simboliza además el medio ambiente y su carácter rural.[1]
